Time & Location
16 Mar 2019, 9:00 am
National University of Singapore, 21 Lower Kent Ridge Rd, Singapore 119077
About The Event
The safety and success of these ports and offshore installations depend on timely weather forecasts, which include warnings of squalls, sandstorms and high winds or waves. These natural events can cause loss of life or environmental disasters like oil spills.
NUS Statistics Society organizes Data Science Challenge in partnership with TerraAI. The student participants can learn practical data science concepts and AI techniques while at the same time develop AI-based Squall Early Warning System for Singapore Port. We hope the students can acquire practical data science skills while at the same time utilize those skills to make positive social impact.
